R.W.Shea
The showroom's introduction of the Dorothy Draper Collection, by Kindel Furniture Co., magnificently reflects the renowned designer's big and bold style and pioneering spirit as the most famous decorator of the 1930s and 1940s. Draper invented Modern Baroque and is known for her oversized plasterworks and dramatic use of color. Many of the pieces in this collection are designs from her corporate work as well as her own apartment at The Carlyle in New York.
Dorothy Draper Braziliance Commode, a two-drawer, cherry-crafted cabinet was designed in 1939 for The Quitandinha, a resort near Sao Paulo, Brazil. The piece has oversized acanthus leaves as well as carved serpentine and shell molding on the doors.
Dorothy Draper Revolving Bar captures the renowned designer's skill as a cheerful hostess with ideas for combating the will to be dreary. The bar is made of solid cherry with mirrored top.
R.W. Shea now features the abstract expressionist artworks of painter, Len Aaron, from Beverly Hills. Donghia
Boyd Lighting introduces the Glow Sconce, an alluring wall sconce ideal for many interiors with a candlelight glow and LED lamp source, designed by Christine & Jacquies Rouviere. It is available with a solid brass metal base, as well as satin nickel and blackened brass.
The On the Rocks Sconce, designed by Sherry Williamson, from the Kentfield Collection - a division of Boyd Lighting, was inspired by the shadows of plants in front of a wall. Juxtaposing nature with man-made elements, the hidden light source emanates up through a dense cluster of stainless steel stems, casting a pattern across the wall and illuminating the 144 clear Swarovski crystal ice cubes suspended above. Overall height is 16 ¼”.
The fall textile collection from Donghia highlights Savanna, a modern interpretation of a giraffe print, which makes an impressive statement in any room. A unique finish allows for the cotton to sit above the silk, creating a beautiful texture and adding dimension. The color palette ranges from neutral tones to lively hues.
Northeastern Kitchen & Bath
Embracing the natural world we live in, the Malibu kitchen from Wood-Mode Cabinetry at Northeastern Kitchen & Bath Co. is designed with an open floor plan for great views of the outdoors and a monochromatic color palette. The neural color of base cabinetry makes it almost invisible yet every inch provides ample storage and seamless flow during meal preparation. The Quartz countertop color melds with the cabinets and cooktop units almost disappear on the stainless steel countertops.
Inspired by the classic Cape Cod style of the Colonial Revival period, the simple, clean lines of the Wood-Mode Cabinetry inset styling complements the home's straightforward design. Classic white cabinetry in a warm brown glaze blends with the deeper tones of the island. The beaded board paneling on the island and counter backsplash are an appropriate tie to the early 1900's home. Glass mullion cabinet doors provide visual interest and reflect the home's existing windows.
