What are the elements and inspirations that determine the quality and craftsmanship of the products you recommend to your clients?  Why do they accord real value in this challenging marketplace?  Mark your calendars for this special day comprised of information and ideas, as well as new styles throughout the showrooms.   It’s also a great time to learn more about our new programs designed to help you market your brand and grow your business.

Schedule of showroom programs throughout the day:

9:00 a.m.
Baker Knapp & Tubbs.  Presentation in Showroom 102.  Baker proudly presents Ray Golm, Training Manager for Kohler Interiors, to share the latest designs from the Bill Sofield Collection. The collection draws inspiration from French Modernism, Hollywood of the 1930s and 40s and the forms that are found in nature.  Join the Baker team immediately following Ray’s presentation for breakfast in the newly installed Bill Sofield galleries.

10:00 a.m

Shea & Co.  Showroom 115.  Meet Erbil Tezcan, owner and artistic director of Wool and Silk Rugs, who will discuss the weaving process of his company’s collection of Nepalese rugs, produced in the exclusive and exacting formula of combining silk with wool for a lively, beautiful sheen. Designs are inspired by antique and archival patterns interpreted in modern colors, including those from pre-Columbian, Ottoman, Asian and African sources.  During his talk you will learn about carpet designs featuring the old-forgotten styles of Sultans, Suzanis, Ikats, Turkastan, Japanese wallpapers and African tribals.

11:00 a.m

Monroe & Company.  Showroom 116.  Chuck Massoud, owner and president of Massoud Furniture, will speak on the history, design elements, custom capabilities and value of his bench-made upholstery line. For over 50 years his family has been providing designers with wonderful designs and beautiful fabric selections in both traditional and transitional styling.  During a light lunch after the presenttion, learn how you can become a member of the Ohio Design Centre's growing Designer-on-Call program on Fridays from participants in the design community.

1:30 p.m.
Atelier Lapchi.  Showroom 103.  Join Lapchi’s regional director Sasha Goldstein and director Thom Capretta, to explore the world of stores behind these lush and luxurious Tibetan carpets.  Each is a story of artisans and cultural history, a visual expression of artistic influence, ideas and inspirations.  Tibetan wools and fine silks are work in traditional hand dying and weaving techniques to create floor coverings that reflect the timely, the timeless and the personally individual – in styles ranging from classic formal and modernist Mid-Century to texere designer and artist collections.  Light refreshments will be served.
